[Travel Diary] Harrods London

Don´t miss an unforgettable shopping experience at London´s luxury department store Harrods!

~ Hel ~

If you are in London you should definitely pay a visit to Harrods. It´s one of the world´s most famous and biggest department stores. I think it is indeed comparable with the KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens) in Berlin.
The store is very easy to find. All you need to do in order to get there is to take the London underground to Knightsbridge station. After getting off you can see the building right in front of your eyes - It has quite an outstanding architectural style!

Harrods itself has many departments and you will surely find everything that your heart desires. They sell luxury and everyday goods from clothing, shoes, accessories, beauty products to food and much more on seven floors. Noteworthy is for example that big designer brands like Hérmes, Prada, Chanel and Louis Vuitton are represented. Therefore the pleasure to purchase something is indeed very great. However the prices are very high! Also a wide range of services is offered including restaurants or food delivery. This place is not only for big shoppers but also tourists who like to come here in order to buy gifts and souvenirs.

Harrods is also known for its "Food Halls" where you will find a wide selection of cakes and pastries. Being there made me feel as if I was in "Charlie and the chocolate factory". At the end I bought a box of mouthwatering banana and chocolate rose cupcakes for about £10. These fairy cakes are all handmade and only the finest ingredients are used. Always baked fresh you can´t have enough of it! Just delicious!!!
