[Product Review] Urban Decay Naked Palette

I knooooow I'm pretty late to review this super popular eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay!
But it was kind of difficult for me to lay my hands on this palette because it was either way too expensive to order or nowhere available in Germany.

For all of you who are (still!) wavering about whether or not to get this palette or looking for an in depth review - read on for more details, swatches etc.!

~ Mary ~

Here we have an overview of all 12 colours included in this palette.
The palette also includes an Urban Decay eyeshadow brush and the mini version of Urban Decay's eye primer potion (continue reading for a closer look on that).

At a closer look you can see that the shadows range from matt to shimmery texture-wise and from light to dark shade-wise.

Virgin is a very pretty pearly light brown colour which is perfect for highlighting the inner corners of your eyes or your brow bone area.

Sin is a brown colour with a slight rose undertone which has slightly more shimmer to it. It leaves a rather satin finish.

Naked is really just what its name depicts: a very nude light brown matte colour that you could use to neutralize your eyelid.

Sidecar is a very shimmery cool toned brown colour that has tiny  silverish glitter particles in it.

Buck is a matt warmer-toned brown. If you want                            to go for a matte smoky eye look, then Naked as the main colour and Buck as the crease colour would be all you need!

Half Baked is a rich warm-toned brown colour with lots of golden shimmer to it. Applied on the skin it almost looks like purely golden shade.

Smog is kind of the darker, toned-down version of Half Baked. It has less golden shimmer.

Darkhorse is a dark brown colour that has a golden sheen to it.

Toasted appears like the darker version of Sin.

Hustle goes a few more shades darker than Toasted. It is a cool-toned dark brown with a silverish sheen.

Creep is basically a black shadow with tiny silver glitter particles.

Gunmetal is a dark grey shade with shilver shimmer and glitter. Although it looks lighter than

Creep in the box, it can appear darker when applied on the skin.

I swatched the colours WITHOUT any primers on. After about two swipes on bare skin, this is how the colours look like. The shadows are impressively pigmented.

swatch and closer look at the primer potion

The primer potion has a very smooth and creamy texture. It blends very nicely and leaves a matte finish. You can feel how it fills in little wrinkles on your skin to provide a smooth, sturdy base for your eyeshadows. Your eye shadows will appear more vibrant and last way longer without running all over the place or smudging.

The eyeshadow brush has super soft and dense bristles which allow you to pack on the shadows. You can use the brush for blending as well (even though a blending brush might give overall better results).

You can create diverse looks with the palette - be it neutral everyday looks or heavy smoky eyes for night outs! I use the palette on a daily basis and even after a sweaty dance session my eye makeup looks pretty fine. This is why I can also use the palette for show makeup.
Overall this palette is indeed worth its investment!
By the way I got mine on one of the P&O ferries between Calais and Dover for 28£. Later on we went to a store called Debenhams in London and there the palette was sold for 36£
