Mary digging into some heavy books in the library

This article is going to be a very useful one for all you fellow students!
I will be sharing some tips and tricks that help you to deal with massive stress!

What are you waiting for - Let's get rid of all that stress right now!

~ Mary ~

Tip # 1

It's absolutely no use to overstrain yourself! If you force too much out of yourself you only get the opposite: bad results on everything you do!
I know that at times when you're schedule is darn tight, you have loads of homework to do, numerous tests and exams are up etc. you just can't seem to help it. BUT when all of this starts to harm your health condition, you're not eating well, you're lacking sleep and you're suffering from severe headaches - that's when you know it's too much. At times like that you need to draw a line and say NO to more work and duties
Instead set your priorities and focus on the really important things first! For instance: You have a huge exam coming up but at the same time you need to finish a presentation before the given deadline. The exam shall be your priority so go ask your teacher/professor for some extra time in order to finsih the presentation. Trust me in most cases you will be granted a few more days and that will help you out a lot!

Tip # 2

Take breaks and work out!
For me there's nothing more stress-releasing than a nice work-out. In my special case: a few hours of dancing, getting into the music, shaking it all away!
While you're doing sports you'll be able to get rid of all the tensity you built up during those stressful days. In short terms: Sweat it all out!
People say that a healthy mind can only come with a healthy body - and I totally agree with that!

Tip # 3

Eat properly!
In order to cope with all the stress you're body needs energy! Which it will gain through you eating properly and healthily
Never skip meals! Try to have at least one warm meal per dayAnd also try to especially have a nice nurturing breakfast every morning.
Another very important thing: Don't drink too much coffee!!! I know that coffee seems to be one's life saver during stressful days. Still too much caffeine will actually only tire you out even more.
Let's talk about sweets: Some of you (girls) crave for sweet snacks when you're under stress. A tiny bit at a moment is fine but don't make sweets your main dish. You will not only feel sick after some time but also...fat! :(
However what I recommend are grape-sugar pills. Take one at a time and the sugar will give you an extra boost of instant energy (but hey, don't overdo this!).

Tip # 4

Sleep!
The less you sleep the weaker your body and and consequently brain will become. Thus nothing good will be coming out of that sleep-deprived state.
The worst thing: Pulling all-nighters frequently!
Guys, you need to sleep! Put all that work aside for at least 6-7 hours a day in order to restore your body.

Tip # 5

Have everything planned out and organized!
This is a very good thing to do in order to prevent stress before it attacks you: Start your work in time and don't keep delaying everything!
Write a detailed plan that informs you about important dates like deadlines, exams etc. And according to that plan apportion your studying schedule. For all of you smart/iphone owners there are many very useful apps that help you out with organizing your studies.

Tip # 6

Grant yourself a beauty treat!
Did you know how things like a manicure, a facial mask or a shower really help to ease your mind and get rid of stress?
Once in a while you should lay down and put on a relaxing facial mask. That also helps preventing pimples caused by stress! Your skin suffers with you when you're under stress so you shouldn't neglect it.
Beauty treats don't have to cost you much time but they are effective as stress-releasers as they help you to get your thoughts off all the work.

Tip # 7

Don't lock yourself away from the world!
It's a huge mistake to shun social contacts during your full-packed schedule days. Even under stress we're still human-beings who feel a natural need for social activities. It's what keeps as alive basically.
That is why you shouldn't avoid all your friends' calls in order to spend all your time in the library or in your room studying by yourself.
Even if it's studying you could do it with others. Sometimes this will even turn out to be more productive and fun at the same time!
And other than that it doesn't hurt to take a day off in order to go on a shopping tour with your girls. Shopping makes you forget about all the stress very easily.

I know that these are very trivial things that you might already know for yourselves. But even these common things become easily forgotten once we lose our minds over all the work, duties and responsibilities we have to deal with.
This is why I think it's a good idea to remind oneself of even the simplest things that would make our lives so much less stressful.
With that all being said I hope you guys don't suffer from too much stress these days and take good care of yourselves! :)
