[Nail Art] Holiday themed Nail Looks

source: http://1.bp.blogspot.com

The Holiday Season has begun. And I personally loooooooooooooooove this time of the year!
In cold, dark, drab winters the holidays are what lights up our lives. That is why I enjoy to incorporate the holiday theme into everything I do
- with nail art being no exception!
So today I will be showing you my
favourite type of nail art for this season!

~ Mary ~

Of course you guys can go all out on your holiday themed nail art. The holidays are all about being jolly, cheerful, festive and fancy - so bring that into your nail art!

I personally, enjoy shorter nails with simple but fun and cute designs lately.
During the holiday season you have to do all that gift shopping and wrapping - you know what I mean, haha - so that shorter nails just come in handy.
What I'm also totally digging these days is the "accent nail" look. Basically what you do to achieve that look is not paint all your nails identically. You choose one or two fingers and make them stand out with a different nail colour or even a totally different design. I find that looks super cute as it gives a boring, plain nail art an extra glamourous, unique touch.

Here are some inspirational examples for you to refer to in case you need some ideas ;)

In this example the main colour is a lavender violet. This person chose to make each nail an accent nail by having different designs on every finger.

Here we have a light-blue design. Don't these penguins look super adorable?

Now this is one of the must-have holiday colours: red! In combination with glitter and gold you have yourself the perfect classic holiday themed look. This person chose to have her accent nail on the ring finger. Actually this is the most common choice. Since your ring finger is your most delicate finger it's justified to highlight that finger with an individual design.

And here we have the other holiday essential colour shade: green like your Christmas tree.
The person here went with cute little candy canes as accents.

Finally here is what my nails look like right now:
I went with the classic red because I relate this colour to Christmas the most.
As for my accent nails, namely my ring finger and thumb, I chose a crackling gold nail polish. In my opinion red and gold go extremely well together.
This nail art was super easy to create and yet it represents the holiday festiveness quite well ;)

How do your holiday themed nail arts look like?
